I hadn't been to church in several weeks because of Will and all the illness going around our house. I finally made it to Sacrament Meeting last week. Hooray, I thought, Life is starting to get back to normal. The first announcement was new membership records. The ex and family. Hmmm, that's interesting. It didn't end great, so I knew it was going to be awkward. I was picturing things at church...introducing him to Mike, meeting his wife, etc. So I was standing in the cereal aisle at Smith's and someone walked up behind me.
Ex: Becky?
Me: Oh...hi.
(Handshake)
Ex: Wow, it's been a long time.
Me: Yup.
(I had Will with me)
Ex: So, this is your son? Well...obviously...
Me: Yeah, one of them.
Ex: I have two boys...
Me: I know.
Ex: (Looking very confused) How do you know?
Me: Because we're in the same ward now.
Ex: (Now looking shocked) We are?
Me: Yeah, I live down the street from you.
Ex: You do?
Me: Yeah.
This is really where the conversation ended. I can't hide emotion on my face, and since I hadn't been feeling great, and I was still in my lawn-mowing clothes, and I was taken completely off-guard, I think I had a fairly unpleasant look on my face. I ended by saying something like, "Well, it's good to see you..." He said see ya, and then he walked away. Well that didn't go as planned.

So Doug told me about the EX...that sucks(for lack of a better word)...and I am so sorry! I would absolutley die if my ex and his wife moved into our ward! Well at least they are just renting and maybe if it is just awkward enough they might leave sooner! And of all places to run into him, the grocery store!
haha...I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but sometimes other peoples awkward experiences make me laugh because then I feel somewhat more normal. I don't know what happened between you and this guy, but everything happens for a reason, and maybe this is your chance to make things not awkward. There is a guy that I dated once...who I also have terrible feelings toward...I think I have run into him once since I graduated from college. but before that I would run into him just about every MWF, because we had a class right next to each other. Anyway, I still to this day run into his sister all over the place. Luckily, she is really cool about things...but still awkward....Good luck with him in the ward!
